Introduction:: "SEWOL” has sunken into the sea for 3 years. Why did the Korean government not speed up the salvage? Possibly it is due to economic and political factors. There are many explanations about the Korean government's delayed salvage of "SEWOL”, but capital and technology should be one of the main reasons. For this salvage, the Shanghai Salvage Bureau and Korea Underwater Engineering Corporation formed a consortium. According to Wang Weiping, the director of Korean "SEWOL" salvage project, the external environmental factors in the operation waters of "SEWOL" can be summarized as "frequent wind, rapid flow, deep water, and hard seabed". The project is overwhelmingly enduring and difficult. Some unknown risks may emerge from time to time, and factors such as stormy waves, tides and rain may affect the progress and success of the salvage. The difficulty is imaginable. As a participant in the salvage of "SEWOL", Horizon Equipment set up a special project team to provide electricity assurance service and tailored electricity solution for the project to ensure normal progression of salvage. Not a second was wasted. According to related data, Shanghai Salvage Bureau invested over 3,000 ships and 2,170 person-times in this operation. Over 6,000 person-times of diving operations (accounting for a large proportion) have been done with the total length of underwater operation approaching 13,000h. Finally, at the night of Mar. 25, 2017, the rusty ship was lifted from the sea as a whole, symbolizing the success of the most critical and difficult stage in this salvage operation of "overall lifting and floating". After 1,073 days, "SEWOL" was finally brought to light again.
